Go Jimmy Go

Go Jimmy Go was a ska and reggae band hailing from Honolulu, Hawaii, known for blending old-school Jamaican ska, rocksteady, reggae, and soul with a uniquely Hawaiian vibe. Formed in 1996, the band built a solid reputation for their infectious grooves, tight horn sections, and throwback 1960s vibe, all while carving out their niche in the third-wave ska movement. Their music carried a laid-back island feel that made their sound distinct among their mainland contemporaries.

Over the years, Go Jimmy Go released several albums and toured extensively, both in the U.S. and internationally, sharing stages with major ska and reggae acts. A staple in the Hawaiian music scene, they played together for two decades before calling it a day with a farewell show in 2016 to mark their 20th anniversary. Their legacy endures as one of the few bands to successfully marry traditional Jamaican rhythms with Pacific island soul.
