The Dear Hunter is a progressive rock band founded by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Casey Crescenzo in 2005. Originally formed as a side project while Crescenzo was a member of The Receiving End of Sirens, The Dear Hunter has since evolved into his primary creative vehicle. The band is known for its ambitious concept albums, especially the sprawling multi-part narrative series known as "The Acts," which chronicles a fictional storyline filled with rich characters and intricate themes.
Musically, The Dear Hunter blends elements of progressive rock, orchestral music, indie rock, and experimental pop. Their discography includes the acclaimed "Act" series, stand-alone albums like Migrant, and more conceptual works like the color-themed EP collection The Color Spectrum and the dystopian narrative album Antimai.
