House of Harm is a post-punk trio hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. Known for their haunting melodies and ethereal synth-driven sound, the band has quickly carved out a space for themselves in the darker corners of the indie music scene. Comprised of members Mike Rocheford, Cooper Leardi, and Kenrei Lloyd, House of Harm draws inspiration from the moody atmospheres of '80s goth and new wave bands, while infusing their music with a contemporary, shimmering production quality that makes their sound undeniably current.
Their debut album, "Vicious Pastimes," released in September of 2020, is a collection of nine tracks that explore themes of longing and the human condition through a lens of lush, chilling arrangements and powerful lyricism. The album includes standout tracks like "Always," which showcases their ability to blend catchy hooks with a brooding undercurrent, and the eponymous "Vicious Pastimes," a converging point of melancholic vocals and resonant beats that exemplify their signature sound. Singles like "Behind You" and "Taste the Light" further exhibit the band's evolution as artists, while songs such as "Two Kinds" and "Madhouse" have helped to solidify their reputation as purveyors of finely crafted, affective music that resonates with a growing base of fans who are drawn to the darker, more emotive spectrum of alternative music.
