Mutes is a post-hardcore band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2017, the band consists of vocalist/guitarist Josh Scogin (ex-The Chariot, Norma Jean), guitarist Jesse Zaraska (ex-The Chariot), bassist Paul Keller (ex-The Chariot), and drummer Ben Koller (ex-Converge). Mutes' music is characterized by its heavy, aggressive sound, with Scogin's distinctive vocals and Zaraska's intricate guitar work. The band has released two EPs, "Modern Waste" and "Pareidolia," and is currently working on their debut full-length album.
