Massimo Zanetti

Massimo Zanetti is a renowned Italian conductor, celebrated for his work in leading orchestras and opera houses globally. Born in Milan, Italy, Zanetti was raised in a family of classical music lovers, which fostered his early interest in music. He began dreaming of being a conductor at the age of six after witnessing Claudio Abbado perform with La Scala Orchestra. Zanetti's career highlights include his tenure as Music Director of the Flemish Opera Antwerp/Gent from 1999 to 2002 and the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra from 2018 to 2022. Under his leadership, the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra gained international recognition as one of South Korea's top orchestras.

Zanetti has conducted numerous operas and symphonic concerts, collaborating with prominent orchestras such as the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Czech Philharmonic, and the NHK Symphony Orchestra. His discography includes notable works like *The Verdi Album* with Sonya Yoncheva and operas by Verdi such as *Simon Boccanegra* and *I Vespri Siciliani*. Zanetti is known for his broad repertoire, which spans from classical to contemporary music, and his ability to bring opera forms into orchestral performances.
