PE'Z

PE'Z is a dynamic and irrepressible Japanese jazz band, formed in Tokyo in 1999. Labeled as "Samurai Jazz," their style is a vibrant fusion of traditional jazz with various elements of Latin, pop, soul, and rock music, which results in an energetic and highly entertaining live performance. The group consists of Ohyama "B.M.W" Wataru on trumpet, Kadota "Jaw" Kousuke on saxophone, Nirehara Masahiro on bass, Hiizumi Masayuki on keyboard, and Kou on drums.

The essence of PE'Z shines through in their electrifying live performances, as reflected in their release titles, many of which are recorded versions of their concerts. These live albums, such as "PE’Z 終演 EN-MUSUBI 2015 FINAL〜おどらにゃそんそん!〜" and "JumpUP!(EN-MUSUBI 2012 12.30 shimokitazawa GARDEN ライブ盤)," capture the band at their most spontaneous and interactive. PE'Z's artistry is also evident in their studio recordings, such as "向日葵-Himawari-" and "侍JAZZ -PE'Z standard tracks-," which demonstrate their ability to blend complex jazz arrangements with catchy melodies that resonate with a wide audience. Throughout their career, PE'Z has consistently pushed the envelope of traditional jazz, creating a unique sound that has earned them a devoted following in Japan and beyond.
