Victor Feldman was a British jazz musician and composer best known for his virtuosity on multiple instruments, including vibraphone, piano, and percussion. Born in London in 1934, Feldman was a prodigy who began performing professionally as a child and eventually became a respected figure in both jazz and studio music scenes. He made a name for himself in the UK jazz circuit before moving to the United States in the 1950s, where he became an in-demand session player.
Feldman worked with a host of legendary artists, including Miles Davis—he played on Davis's iconic album "Seven Steps to Heaven"—as well as Cannonball Adderley, Steely Dan, and Joni Mitchell, to name a few. His versatility and musicianship made him a favorite among producers and bandleaders alike. Beyond jazz, Feldman also contributed to pop and rock recordings, leaving a diverse and lasting legacy before his untimely death in 1987.
