Geoff Barrow

Geoff Barrow is a versatile British musician, producer, and composer, widely recognized as a member of the influential trip-hop band Portishead. Born on December 9, 1971, in Walton in Gordano, Somerset, England, Barrow's signature sound has helped define a genre and influence countless artists. Before achieving fame with Portishead, Barrow honed his skills as a tape operator at the Coach House Studios in Bristol, where he met Beth Gibbons, and later formed Portishead in 1991.

Beyond his success with the band, Barrow has cultivated a notable career in film and television scoring, his soundscapes characterized by their haunting atmospheres and intricate textures. Among his most recent endeavours are original scores for feature films and series, like "Men" (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), "Archive 81" (from the Netflix series), and "Devs" (Original Series Soundtrack). His work underscores a mastery of mood, whether it’s the unsettling tones of "Annihilation" or the synth-driven dystopian vibes of "Ex Machina" and "Drokk: Music Inspired By Mega-City One." With his music consistently at the nexus of innovation and the evocative, Geoff Barrow has etched his name among the contemporary maestros of film and television scoring.
