He Is Legend

He Is Legend is an American rock band from Wilmington, North Carolina, formed in 2003. The band's sound is an amalgamation of heavy metal, stoner rock, and alternative metal, meshed with Southern rock influences that has evolved over the years. The group consists of frontman Schuylar Croom, guitarist Adam Tanbouz, bassist Matty Williams, and drummer Jesse Shelley. Over the years, their lineup has undergone changes, but the band has consistently been driven by the charisma of Croom and the distinct guitar work of Tanbouz.

The band's name, He Is Legend, refers to the book "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson, cementing their affinity for mixing literary influences with their music. Early on, they gained recognition with albums like "I Am Hollywood" and "Suck Out the Poison". With their 2014 release "Heavy Fruit", the band refined their sound further, leading to their acclaimed 2017 album "few" and the atmospheric darkness of "White Bat" released in 2019. He Is Legend has preserved a strong following by their relentless touring and unique blend of genres; the band continued to showcase their adaptive style with singles such as "Burn All Your Rock Records" and "Boogiewoman". Despite being an underground act, they've made an indelible mark on the heavy music scene with their distinctive blend of sludgy riffs, hard rock grooves, and a touch of the macabre in their lyrics and themes.
