Albert Tootie Heath

Albert "Tootie" Heath is a legendary jazz drummer with a career spanning over seven decades. Born in Philadelphia, he's the youngest brother of the equally iconic Heath Brothers (saxophonist Jimmy and bassist Percy). Tootie's drumming is known for its incredible swing, subtle dynamics, and impeccable taste. He's played with a who's who of jazz giants, including John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Herbie Hancock, and Nina Simone, to name just a few. He's led his own groups and contributed to countless recordings, solidifying his place as one of the most important and influential drummers in jazz history.
