The Union Underground

The Union Underground is an American nu-metal band formed in San Antonio, Texas in 1996. Founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Bryan Scott and bassist Patrick Kennison, the band was rounded out by drummer Josh Memolo and guitarist John Moyer. The group is renowned for their aggressive blend of metal, industrial and grunge influences, which coalesced into a sound that resonated with the rebellious spirit of the early 2000s rock scene.

The band burst onto the mainstream scene with their major-label debut, "...An Education in Rebellion," released in 2000 on Columbia Records. The album was a commercial success, featuring now classic tracks like "Turn Me on 'Mr. Deadman'," which became anthems of the era's hard rock radio waves. Following their studio success, the band released a live album, "Live...One Nation Underground," which showcased the raw, energetic nature of their performances. Despite their initial impact, The Union Underground's tenure at the forefront of the nu-metal movement was short-lived, and they disbanded in 2002. Their music, however, continues to be celebrated by fans of the genre, maintaining their status as a significant, if brief, force in the heavy music circuit of their time.
