Pietro Lussu

Pietro Lussu is an Italian pianist born in Rome in 1971. He began his musical journey studying classical piano as a child and later focused on jazz at the age of 16 under the guidance of Massimo Rustico. Lussu furthered his jazz education at the Jazz University of Terni, where he studied with Mike Melillo and attended seminars by notable musicians like Maurizio Giammarco and Paolo Fresu. He also had the opportunity to study with renowned figures such as Franco D'Andrea and Enrico Rava. Lussu has collaborated with numerous artists, including Rosario Giuliani, Nicola Conte, and Pietro Tonolo, and has been involved in various musical projects, including the LTC trio. He has performed at several jazz festivals across Europe and teaches at the Accademia Romana di Musica in Rome.

Lussu's recent releases include albums like "Tribute to Bird," "Catch a Falling Star," and "Northern Lights," showcasing his vibrant and contemporary approach to jazz. His music reflects a deep understanding of modern jazz while maintaining a connection to its rich heritage. As a versatile pianist, Lussu has contributed to a wide range of musical collaborations, solidifying his position as a respected figure in the jazz scene.
