Soulphiction

Soulphiction was the alias of Michel Baumann, a respected German producer and DJ known for his deep, soulful approach to house music. He was based in Stuttgart and was also known under the name Jackmate for his more techno-oriented productions. As Soulphiction, Baumann explored a rich fusion of house, funk, and soul, often bringing a raw, sample-heavy aesthetic to his tracks. He released music on influential labels like Perlon, Sonar Kollektiv, and his own label, Philpot, which became a trusted home for high-quality underground house music.

Throughout his career, Baumann earned a strong following for his live sets and DJ performances, and he was celebrated for his authentic, groove-focused sound. Releases like "24/7 Love Affair" and “Bizzness” exemplify his unique blend of vintage textures and modern dancefloor sensibility. Sadly, Michel Baumann passed away in 2021, but he left behind a lasting legacy in the electronic music scene.
