Head East

Head East is an American rock band that formed in 1969 in Illinois, originally under the name The Exceptions. They became a staple of Midwestern rock in the ’70s with a punchy, radio-friendly mix of hard rock and melodic hooks, breaking through nationally after signing with A&M Records.

They’re best known for the enduring singalong “Never Been Any Reason” and other crowd-pleasers like “Raise a Little Hell” and “Since You Been Gone,” songs that helped cement their reputation as a powerful live band and a mainstay of classic rock playlists. Over the years Head East has continued touring and releasing music, keeping that straight-ahead, good-time rock spirit front and center.
