**Unverkalt** kicked off in Athens back in 2017 when guitarist and main composer Themis Ioannou teamed up with powerhouse vocalist Dimitra Kalavrezou, driven by a raw need to channel grief into something slow-burning, visceral, and beautifully crushing. What started as a duo quickly evolved into a full avant-garde post-metal force, blending delicate romance with extreme chaos—they dropped their debut *L’Origine du Monde* in 2020, diving into loss and catharsis with brooding atmospheres, followed by the darker, obsession-fueled *A Lump of Death: A Chaos of Dead Lovers* that ramped up the gothic doom and cinematic vibes.

Now calling Berlin home, the crew—Dimitra on vocals, Themis on guitars/keys, Eli Mavrychev on guitars/vocals, Joscha Hoyer on bass, and Christian Eggers on drums—signed with Season of Mist for their heaviest hitter yet, *Héréditaire* (out February 2026), exploring inherited trauma with blast beats, death growls, and guest spots like Rotting Christ’s Sakis Tolis on “I, the Deceit.” Tracks like “Die Auslöschung,” “Oath Ov Prometheus,” and “Introjects” showcase their fearless experimentation, peeling back layers of humanity’s darkest origins while keeping that signature emotional punch.
