Botnit

Botnit is the synthwave project of Jim Govoni, a Boston-based producer known for his retro 1980s-inspired electronic music. He gained recognition in the synthwave scene with releases like *Vivid Memories* (2013), *To the Max* (2014), and *State of the Art* (2017), combining nostalgic synth sounds with modern production techniques. Although he announced a temporary retirement from the genre around 2015 due to creative shifts and feeling disconnected from synthwave, Govoni later returned, continuing to put out new music including the 2024 album *binary waltz*. His work is characterized by a fondness for ‘80s pop culture and synth textures, appealing to fans of retro electronic music.
