Esther Tefana

Esther Tefana was a renowned French Polynesian singer born on October 27, 1948, in Papeete, French Polynesia. She grew up in a musical environment, with her father having played alongside Bimbo. Tefana began her music career at a young age, recording her first album, *Anuanu*, in 1964 at just 16 years old. Throughout her career, she collaborated with notable figures like Eddie Lund and Patrick Noble. In addition to her music, she worked in the tourist industry and spent five years in Africa before returning to her homeland to continue singing. Tefana recorded a total of 27 albums, with 14 of them released on Océane Production. She was recognized for her contributions to music, being made a knight of the Order of Tahiti Nui in 1998. Esther Tefana passed away on May 14, 2021.
