Daniel Sandén-Warg, born in 1977 in Östersund, Sweden, is a versatile musician celebrated for his mastery of traditional instruments like the Hardanger fiddle, Jew's harp, and key harp. Growing up in Karlstad, he initially explored guitar, influenced by Jimi Hendrix, before becoming fascinated with folk music, especially that from Setesdal, Norway. This led him to move to Setesdal in 1998 to immerse himself in the local musical traditions under the guidance of Hallvard T. Bjørgum. Sandén-Warg has been part of several notable collaborations, including the folk music group Harv and the collective Knut Heddis Minne. His impressive discography includes albums like *Rammeslag* (2007) and *Rammeslag II* (2009) with Sigurd Brokke, and *Warg Buen* (2008) with Per Anders Buen Garnås.
Daniel also works as a silversmith, having received his craft certificate in 2005. He has been recognized for his achievements, receiving an artist's stipend from the state to promote folk music and winning prestigious awards such as the Folkelarmprisen. His unique ability to master various styles of folk music has made him a respected figure in the industry, known for his authenticity and depth in interpreting traditional music from Setesdal.
