Timid Tiger

Timid Tiger is an indie-pop band from Cologne, Germany, formed in the summer of 2002 by Christian Voss and Keshav Purushotham after they started collaborating on songwriting at a local disco club. Keshav, whose early musical influences included his father's Indian rock band, teamed up with Evgeni Kouris on keyboards, and later the lineup expanded to include members on bass and drums. The band quickly gained attention in the German indie scene, releasing their first EP, *Timid Tiger & the Electric Treasure Box*, in 2004, and their debut album *Timid Tiger & A Pile of Pipers* in 2005 through the Hamburg cult label L’age d’or. Over the years, they continued to evolve their sound and lineup, with notable releases like *Timid Tiger & The Electric Island* in 2008 and *The Streets Are Black* in 2011, blending indie, pop, and eclectic influences in their music.

Known for their catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics, Timid Tiger has built a loyal following both in Germany and abroad. The band has self-produced much of their work in their Cologne studio, and they have worked with labels such as Columbia/Sony and Papercup Records. Keshav Purushotham remains the frontman, and the band has maintained its creative spirit and connection to its indie roots through more than two decades of making music together.
