Rita Donte is a talented Cuban singer-songwriter born in Havana in 1989. Initially trained as a flamenco dancer, she shifted her focus to music after health issues prompted a change. Her journey into music began with a chance encounter that led her to pursue singing. Donte has been deeply influenced by her Cuban heritage and has also absorbed the rich musical traditions of Mexico, particularly son jarocho from Veracruz. Her music beautifully blends these influences with contemporary elements, resulting in a unique sound that reflects her personal journey of resilience and artistic self-discovery.
Now based in Baja California, Mexico, Donte has released her debut album titled *Ritual*, which includes the captivating single "Zunzun Baba." Her music is a testament to her versatility and creativity, shaped by her diverse experiences in both Cuba and Mexico. Some of her notable releases include "Paseo de las misiones," "Rumba a Marisela," and "Frío de mis penas." Donte's artistic path has been marked by significant collaborations, including her work with Venezuelan musician Gustavo Guerrero (aka Augusto Bracho), which has contributed to the development of her distinctive style.
