Thomas Dausgaard is a Danish conductor known for his dynamic interpretations and adventurous programming. Born in Copenhagen, he has earned a strong international reputation through his work with leading orchestras and ensembles around the world. Dausgaard is especially admired for his fresh takes on Romantic and 20th-century repertoire, as well as his championing of Scandinavian composers.
He's held key leadership roles with several major orchestras, including the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, where he's been chief conductor for many years, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. He also served as music director of the Seattle Symphony.
