Sheer Mag is a band that has been injecting the music scene with their unique concoction of 1970s rock-infused power-pop and punk since their emergence in Philadelphia in 2014. The quintet, fronted by the dynamic Tina Halladay, includes guitarists Kyle Seely and Matt Palmer, bassist Hart Seely, and drummer Ian Dykstra. Known for their DIY ethic and politically charged lyrics, Sheer Mag has carved out a distinct niche for themselves with a gritty, lo-fi aesthetic that harks back to the golden era of rock 'n' roll while maintaining a contemporary edge.

The band first turned heads with their "Compilation (I,II,&III)" release, collecting their early EPs that were initially distributed through Bandcamp and seven-inch vinyl records, showcasing their ability to blend catchy hooks with raw, unfiltered energy. In 2017, Sheer Mag's debut full-length album "Need to Feel Your Love" garnered critical acclaim for its impassioned storytelling and vintage riffs, solidifying their standing in the rock scene. Following up with "A Distant Call" in 2019, they continued to build upon their narrative prowess and musical craftsmanship, tackling personal and social themes framed by their unmistakably raucous sound. Singles like "Crushed Velvet," "All Lined Up," and "Playing Favorites" from subsequent releases have anchored the band’s growth, displaying their sheer magnetism as a powerful and relevant force in a constantly evolving musical landscape.
