Scream is a hardcore punk band that originated in Northern Virginia in 1981. The group was formed by singer Pete Stahl, his brother Franz Stahl on guitar, bassist Skeeter Thompson, and drummer Kent Stax. Known as a key band in the Washington, D.C. hardcore scene, Scream combined the genre's fast-paced, politically charged style with rock and roll influences, reggae, and speed metal elements. They recorded their landmark debut album, *Still Screaming*, at Inner Ear Studios with Ian MacKaye, becoming the first band on the Dischord label to release a full-length album. Over the years, Scream toured extensively in the US and Europe and released several albums, including *This Side Up* and *No More Censorship*, blending hardcore punk intensity with diverse musical styles.
