Syreeta Wright, known mononymously as Syreeta, was an American singer-songwriter and pianist. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 3, 1946. Syreeta began her music career as a backing vocalist for Stevie Wonder, and she later became his wife. She released her debut solo album, "Syreeta," in 1972, and it was a critical and commercial success. Syreeta continued to release music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and she collaborated with a variety of artists, including Billy Preston, George Benson, and Chaka Khan. She passed away on July 6, 2004, at the age of 57.
