Valeria Peter Predescu

Valeria Peter Predescu was a renowned Romanian folk singer born on October 24, 1947, in Telciu, Bistrița-Năsăud, Romania. She began her singing career in 1972 and quickly gained recognition for her powerful voice and contributions to Romanian folk music. Her early recordings were made at Radio Cluj, and she later worked with Radiodifuziunea Romana, collaborating with notable figures like George Vancu. Valeria Peter Predescu participated in and won several competitions, including the "Floarea din gradina" contest, which further solidified her status as a leading folk artist in Transylvania. She released several albums, including "Ia-ma in brate, dorule," and was known for her work with local folk ensembles and educational initiatives. Sadly, she passed away on April 28, 2009, at the age of 61, due to a heart attack.
