Soul Embraced

Soul Embraced is an American Christian death metal band that has been delivering bone-crushing music since its inception in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1997. Originally a side project for Rocky Gray and David Sroczynski of the Christian metalcore band Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced carved out its distinct identity driven by themes of spirituality and the human condition, all woven over the backdrop of aggressive metal soundscapes. The band underwent several lineup changes but always remained anchored by Gray, who is known for his work as the drummer for the gothic metal band Evanescence.

Throughout their career, Soul Embraced has demonstrated a relentless passion for the heavier side of Christian music, never shying away from the gritty and dark themes that their genre encapsulates. Their discography has shown a commitment to exploring these depths both musically and lyrically, with albums such as "This Is My Blood" (2002) and "Immune" (2003) establishing their presence in the extreme metal scene. After a hiatus, the band returned with "Dead Alive" (2008), heralding a more mature sound while retaining their core intensity. The release of "Mythos" on July 9, 2013, confirmed their dedication to their craft, presenting a blend of the brutal and the melodic that has come to define the Soul Embraced legacy. With tracks like "Like A Corpse," they offer a musical experience that not only captivates metal enthusiasts but also speaks to a broader audience interested in the intersection of faith and metal.
