Crimson Dawn is an Italian metal band that emerged in 2005, initially as a project between Dario Beretta (Drakkar) and Emanuele Rastelli (Crown of Autumn, Magnifiqat). The duo shared a passion for epic metal, drawing inspiration from bands like Manowar, Iron Maiden, and Thin Lizzy. Their first promo CD, "A Dawn in Crimson," was well-received in the Italian metal scene between January and April 2006. After a hiatus, Dario revived the project in 2008, incorporating a strong doom metal element and recruiting new members, including Luca Lucchini on drums, Antonio Pecere on vocals, Emanuele Laghi on keyboards, Alessandro Reggiani Romagnoli on bass, and Marco Rusconi on guitar.
Crimson Dawn's discography includes notable albums like "In Strange Aeons…" (2013), "At the Cemetery Gates" (2015), "Chronicles of an Undead Hunter" (2017), and "Inverno" (2020). Their music is characterized by heavy riffs paired with epic and sullen melodies, showcasing a blend of epic and doom metal styles. The band has performed at significant festivals, such as the Play It Doom Festival and the Malta Doom Metal Festival, and has supported prominent acts like Ghost. Their work has been praised for its quality and unique blend of metal genres.
