Calpurnia was a Vancouver-based indie rock band that rose to prominence in the late 2010s. Fronted by Finn Wolfhard, better known for his acting role as Mike Wheeler in the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things," the band also consisted of guitarist Ayla Tesler-Mabe, bassist Jack Anderson, and drummer Malcolm Craig. Although the group was short-lived, they managed to captivate audiences with their fresh energy and youthful perspective, which resonated with a broad fanbase.

Their musical style drew on classic rock, indie, and alternative influences, which was evident in well-received tracks such as "Greyhound" and "Louie." The band released their debut EP "Scout" in June 2018, from which "City Boy" and "Wasting Time" became standout tracks that showcased their growing songwriting prowess and musicality. Despite their growing success, Calpurnia announced in November 2019 that they were disbanding, leaving fans with a small but memorable discography, including their Spotify Singles session where they recorded covers alongside original material, capturing the essence of their sound in tracks like "Cell." Their brief existence left an indelible mark on the indie scene, particularly emphasizing the impressive talents of young musicians and the enduring appeal of rock music.
