**Local Sports** is a Philly-based indie rock trio serving up jangly guitar hooks and introspective lyrics with a DIY spirit. Formed in 2015 by Christian Schmutz (vocals/guitar), Jeff Silverman (bass), and Brendan Monahan (drums), the band blends scrappy, melodic charm with earnest storytelling, landing somewhere between Alvvays’ shimmer and The Beths’ punchy energy. Their 2019 debut *Keep Your Demons* and follow-up releases like *SOAK* (2021) showcase their knack for balancing breezy indie-pop (“Birdwatching”) with moodier, riff-driven tracks (“Actors”).
