Sydney Youth Orchestra

The Sydney Youth Orchestra (SYO) is the premier orchestral training ground for young musicians in Sydney, New South Wales, and is considered the largest organization of its kind in Australia. Founded in 1973 by music educator Peter Seymour, SYO offers hundreds of musicians aged 5 to 25 a pathway from beginner to pre-professional levels through regular auditions and placements in ensembles best suited to their development.
