Alan Arena is an accomplished independent blues musician and singer-songwriter known for his emotionally evocative voice and soulful guitar playing. He gained recognition with two top 10 albums in the New England region before moving away from Boston to become a caregiver for his close friend, a veteran battling Huntington’s Disease. This period inspired much of his recent work, including his album *Deceived*, which was produced in collaboration with Grammy-winning guitarist Paul Nelson. The album blends honky-tonk, blues, gospel, and soul influences, featuring a rich ensemble of talented musicians such as Jerry Portnoy and Brad Hallen.
