Affinity Trio

Affinity Trio is a vibrant jazz group from Milwaukee, consisting of Eric Jacobson on trumpet, Pamela York on piano, and Clay Schaub on bass. Formed in 2021, the trio creates a unique drumless jazz sound that blends standards from the Great American Songbook, bebop, and original compositions. They are known for their intimate ambience and strong rhythmic groove, regularly performing weekly residencies at the Mason Street Grill in Milwaukee. Their debut album *Hindsight* was well received and charted nationally, and their follow-up album *New Outlook* was released in 2025. Individually, they've collaborated with jazz greats like Benny Golson, Phil Woods, and Jeff Hamilton, showcasing their mastery in sound, touch, and feel.

The trio’s music features a clear, lyrical style with Eric Jacobson's expressive trumpet complemented beautifully by Pamela York’s graceful piano and Clay Schaub’s solid bass foundation. Their choice to perform without a drummer allows each instrument’s voice to be distinctly heard and highlights the close chemistry among the members.
