The Kills

The Kills are an enigmatic indie rock band, known for their raw, blues-infused sound and minimalist aesthetic. Formed in 2001, the transatlantic duo consists of American singer Alison Mosshart, also known as "VV," and British guitarist Jamie Hince, monikered "Hotel." They met whilst Mosshart heard Hince practicing guitar in a neighboring hotel room; the pair hit it off musically and began exchanging tapes across the ocean before coming together to form The Kills. The band quickly established themselves with their gritty garage rock and sultry, chemistry-laden performances.

Over the years, The Kills have earned critical acclaim and a devout following with several studio albums, including their stark 2003 debut "Keep On Your Mean Side," and the electrifying "Midnight Boom" in 2008. Recent releases such as the remastered track "I Put A Spell On You" (2020) and rare gems found on "Little Bastards" (2020), which is a collection of B-sides and rarities, encapsulate the band's enduring edge and artistic evolution. These songs, alongside the reflective ambience of 2021's "Cosmic Dancer" cover, manifest the duo's capacity for both sonic ferocity and emotive reinterpretations, continuing to enthrall audiences with their distinctive brand of rock 'n' roll.
