DJ Red Alert is a pioneering DJ and hip-hop personality. Born Frederick Crute on July 27, 1956, in Boston, Massachusetts, he is best known for his work on New York's WBLS-FM radio station, where he was one of the first DJs to introduce hip-hop to a wider audience. As a respected figure in the hip-hop community, DJ Red Alert has spun tracks for numerous high-profile events and has been influential in the careers of various artists.
