Breaking Benjamin

Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band hailing from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, formed in 1999 by lead vocalist and guitarist Benjamin Burnley and drummer Jeremy Hummel. Named after a broken microphone incident during Burnley's first performance, the band rose to prominence with a post-grunge sound that was both heavy and melodic, carving out a niche in the early 2000s rock scene. As the driving force behind the band's creative output, Burnley has been the constant element, with the lineup changing several times over the years. The band's hard-hitting yet accessible musical style can be predominantly classified as alternative metal and post-grunge.

Breaking Benjamin has enjoyed considerable success with their studio albums, developing a loyal fanbase and receiving significant radio play. The band's breakthrough came with their third album, "Phobia," released in 2006, which cemented their status with hits like "The Diary of Jane" and "Breath." After a hiatus due to Burnley's health issues, the band returned with a revamped lineup for the 2015 release "Dark Before Dawn," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Continuing their momentum, they followed with "Ember" in 2018, further demonstrating their knack for crafting atmospheric, hard-rock anthems. Their most recent project, "Aurora," released in 2020, saw the band revisiting their catalog with stripped-down, acoustic renditions featuring guest appearances, showcasing their versatility and enduring appeal.
