Krishna Prema Das, born as Paolo Tofani in Florence, Italy, in 1944, is a musician known for his deep involvement in electronic, jazz, avant-garde, ethnic, and classical music. He began playing guitar at the age of 16, influenced by artists like Eddie Cochran and The Shadows. In the late 1960s, he became involved with the Electronic Synths of EMS, experimenting with solo productions using a simple stereo tape recorder. In 1973, he returned to Italy to join the progressive rock band Area, where he stayed until 1979. Later, he became a Vaishnava monk, which led him to explore the spiritual side of music. He developed a unique instrument called the "Tri-kanta Veena" and created music inspired by Raga scales. His music series, Kṛṣṇa Vision, is a blend of Vaishnava medieval poems and spiritual music.
