Kina

Kina was an Italian hardcore punk band that carved a significant niche in the European underground music scene during the 1980s and early 1990s. Formed in 1982 in the small town of Aosta, Italy, by vocalist and guitarist Alberto Ventrella (also known as "Anfibio"), bassist Sergio Milani, and drummer Gianpiero Capra, Kina's sound was characterized by a raw, emotive intensity, combining aggressive guitar work with introspective lyrics and a D.I.Y. ethic.

Throughout their active years, Kina sought to address social and personal issues through their music, embracing the punk philosophy of anti-conformity and self-management. The band released their debut album "Irreale Realtà" in 1985, which set the groundwork for their subsequent releases. Albums like "Città invisibili" (1989) and "Se ho vinto ho perso" (1993) reveal a band that was constantly evolving, blending melodic elements with hardcore punk. Kina gained respect within the punk community for their sincere and upfront approach to music and politics. Although they disbanded in 1998, the legacy of their music endures in the Italian punk scene and beyond, thanks to their passionate recordings and the poignant messages conveyed in their lyrics.
