Les Savy Fav

Les Savy Fav is an American indie rock band known for their high-energy performances and distinctive blend of post-punk and art punk sounds. Formed in 1995 in Providence, Rhode Island, the band's original lineup consisted of Tim Harrington on vocals, Seth Jabour on guitar, Syd Butler on bass, and Harrison Haynes on drums. Their unique style and approach to music soon caught the attention of underground music enthusiasts, and by the time they transferred base to New York City, they had begun to amass a cult following.

Their discography is marked by a combination of studio precision and raw, electric live recordings. "Go Forth," released in 2001, showcases the band's ability to balance melody with an edgy, post-punk aesthetic. This was followed by a series of singles compiled in "Inches" in 2004, further cementing their reputation for producing infectious and rhythmically complex tunes. It wasn't until 2007 with "Let's Stay Friends" that the band broke through to a wider audience, refining their sound without losing the rambunctious energy that defines their live shows. Their most recent studio album, "Root for Ruin" (2010), continues this trajectory, offering both hook-laden tracks and the angular, energetic instrumentation that fans have come to expect. Alongside studio efforts, they released "After The Balls Drop," a live album that captures the raw power and unpredictability of their New Year's Eve performances. Despite their sporadic activity and side projects in recent years, the impact of Les Savy Fav on the indie rock scene remains indelible, as they continue to influence new generations of musicians and thrill audiences with their performances.
