Chocolatte da Vila Maria

Chocolatte de Vila Maria, whose real name is Anderson Luciano Santos, is a renowned figure in the São Paulo samba scene. Born in October 1975 in Santa Cruz da Vitória, he moved to São Paulo at a young age and grew up in the Vila Maria neighborhood. This environment exposed him to the vibrant samba culture, which would later shape his career. Chocolatte is a talented musician, known for his skills as a singer, composer, percussionist, and baterista. He has worked alongside legendary figures like Beth Carvalho, Jamelão, and Jair Rodrigues, and has performed at prestigious festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Chocolatte has released several albums, including **Herança Popular**, **A Fantástica Bateria de Chocolatte, Vol. 1 & 2**, and **Chocolatte canta Partido-Alto**. Beyond his music, he is a community leader and activist, using art as a tool for social transformation. He founded the **Bloco do Chocolatte** in 2012, which has become a significant cultural event in São Paulo. Chocolatte also published an autobiography titled **"A Fantástica Estrada de Chocolatte de Vila Maria"** in 2019, detailing his journey as a musician and cultural activist. His recent releases include live performances with his Bloco do Chocolatte, showcasing his continued passion for samba and community engagement.
