Jack is a British alternative rock band formed in Cardiff, Wales, in 1992. Known for their orchestral pop sound, Jack drew inspiration from artists like Scott Walker, David Bowie, and Roxy Music, and often drew comparisons to bands such as Tindersticks and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Despite cultivating a devoted cult following in the UK and across Europe, particularly France, they never achieved the commercial success of their Britpop peers. The band released notable albums including *Pioneer Soundtracks* (1996), *The Jazz Age* (1998), and *The End of the Way It's Always Been* (2002), and they disbanded in 2002. Their music remains appreciated for its lush arrangements and evocative, cinematic style.
