Barracks

Barracks are a four-piece post-hardcore band hailing from the Bay of Plenty and Hamilton regions in New Zealand. The group first made waves with their debut EP "We Are The Lions" in 2010 and went on to capture more attention with the release of their full-length album "Ghosts," which debuted at #1 on the iTunes metal charts in New Zealand in 2014. Their music is characterized by energetic rhythms and passionate vocals, drawing fans from across the post-hardcore and metal scenes. In 2016, they released the EP "Lovestay," showcasing their continued growth and evolution as a band.

Some of the original and later members of Barracks were previously part of the Rotorua/Hamilton death metal/metalcore band Acalmbefore, including Simon Power, Kane Lazenby, and Martin Mihaka. The band is known for their hands-on approach to recording and creativity, often handling writing, recording, and production themselves, as seen with their self-produced 2016 release "Lovestay". Their music has built a dedicated following in the New Zealand music scene and beyond.
