Trini Lopez was a Mexican-American singer, guitarist, and actor. Born in Dallas, Texas, in 1937, Lopez began his career in the late 1950s, performing at local clubs and on television. He rose to fame in the early 1960s with his hit singles "If I Had a Hammer" and "Lemon Tree," which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Lopez also had a successful acting career, appearing in films such as "The Dirty Dozen" (1967) and "The Ballad of Cable Hogue" (1970). He continued to perform and record music throughout his life, releasing his final album, "Trini Lopez Live at the Sahara Tahoe," in 2012. Lopez passed away in 2020 at the age of 83.
