Thomas Demenga

Thomas Demenga is a Swiss cellist and composer known for his innovative approach to classical and contemporary music. Born in 1954, he has made a name for himself not only as a soloist performing internationally but also as a champion of modern composers and experimental works. Demenga is especially admired for blending historical repertoire—like the works of Bach—with contemporary compositions, often featuring pieces by living composers in his programs.

Beyond performance, Demenga is also respected as a composer and educator, having taught at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel.
