Tamburaški Orkestar Hrt-A

The **Tamburaški Orkestar HRT-a** (HRT Tamburitza Orchestra) is a renowned ensemble established in October 1941 in Zagreb, originally as a tamburitza ensemble for Radio-Zagreb. Over the years, the orchestra has evolved to embrace a wide range of musical genres, including folk, serious, and entertainment music. Under the artistic leadership of notable conductors like Siniša Leopold, the orchestra has become a prominent ambassador of Croatian folk music globally. The ensemble has worked with distinguished musicians and composers, such as Lovro von Matačić and Boris Papandopulo. Today, it consists of sixteen permanent musicians and continues to perform with a focus on preserving and innovating traditional Croatian music.

The orchestra's discography includes numerous acclaimed albums, such as *Seven Decades; 1941-2011: Croatian Composers in the Atmosphere of the Tamburitza*, which won a *Porin* Award. More recent releases include collaborations with vocal ensembles like *Kolendo, kolendo, veselo, veselo* with Klapa Kaše. The orchestra is celebrated for its rich musical heritage and its role in elevating the tamburitza from a folk instrument to an artistic musical instrument with exceptional possibilities.
