Yasser el Balacero

Yasser El Balacero, born Yasser Ramos Lorenzo on June 18, 1982, in Havana, Cuba, is a renowned singer in the Cuban music scene, particularly known for his contributions to salsa and timba. He is a self-taught musician who also plays percussion instruments. Yasser has been part of several influential Cuban groups, including Leonel Limonta y Azúcar Negra, Charanga Forever, El Chispa y Los Cómplices, and Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, with which he spent about seven years. It was during his time with Salsa Mayor that he gained the nickname "El Balacero" due to the success of the single "Debajo de la balacera." He has toured extensively across Europe and America, participating in major international festivals of Cuban and Latin music. In 2013, he left Salsa Mayor, and by the end of 2014, he founded Yasser Ramos & Nueve Milímetros, an orchestra focused on a fusion of timba and reguetón.

Some of his notable musical releases include "Salsero y Balacero" and "Yo Estoy Pa Lo Mío (Timbaton)." More recently, he directs the orchestra "Tumbao Mayombe." Yasser's music is characterized by his dynamic performances and his ability to blend different styles within the Cuban musical tradition. Through his work, he has become a prominent figure in both national and international Cuban music scenes.
