Swearin' is an American indie rock band that was formed in 2011 in Brooklyn, New York. The group, featuring Allison Crutchfield (vocals, guitar), Kyle Gilbride (vocals, guitar), Keith Spencer (bass), and Jeff Bolt (drums), became known for their raw, energetic blend of punk-inflected indie rock and introspective lyrics. Swearin’ quickly gained a reputation within DIY circles for their compelling songwriting and spirited live performances, capturing the ear of listeners who yearn for the earnestness of '90s indie rock with a fresh twist.
After their eponymous debut album "Swearin'" in 2012 and the follow-up "Surfing Strange" in 2013, the band experienced a brief hiatus, during which Allison Crutchfield pursued a solo career. They reunited with renewed vigor to release their third full-length album, "Fall into the Sun" in 2018, showcasing a maturation in their sound while retaining the catchy hooks and emotional honesty that defined their earlier work. In addition to their studio albums, Swearin' recorded a session for Audiotree Live, further demonstrating their raw live power and chemistry as a band. Despite a modest discography, with "What A Dump" serving as a compilation of early and unreleased material, Swearin's impact on the indie music scene has been significant, influencing a new generation of artists with their heartfelt, unpretentious rock.
