Hallo Venray

Hallo Venray is a Dutch indie rock band that hails from The Hague, named after the small town of Venray in Limburg, the Netherlands. Formed in 1987, the group is led by the distinct vocals and songwriting of frontman Henk Koorn, joined by Peter Konings on guitar and Henk Jonkers on drums. Over the years, the band has built a reputation for their dynamic blend of rock, infused with elements of alternative, folk, and occasionally a touch of psychedelia.

Their music carries a certain raw, unpolished honesty, which can clearly be heard in their more recent releases such as "Coffee and Cake," "Nerds," and "Where Is the Funky Party?." These works showcase Hallo Venray's versatility, moving from poetic introspection to playful and ironic observations. The band has also shown their respect for rock traditions with the release of "Roll Another Number, a Tribute to Neil Young," underlining their ability to both honor the giants of rock history and cultivate their unique sound. Hallo Venray remains an enduring force in the Dutch music scene, esteemed for their engaging live performances and a discography that resonates with fans of authentic and heartfelt rock music.
