Jakub Hrůša

Jakub Hrůša is a highly respected Czech conductor known for his dynamic interpretations and deep affinity with Central European repertoire. Born in 1981 in Brno, Czech Republic, Hrůša studied conducting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Over the years, he has built a reputation as one of the leading conductors of his generation, praised for his work with orchestras across Europe and beyond.

He serves as Chief Conductor of the Bamberg Symphony and has held prominent roles with orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra and Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Hrůša is particularly celebrated for his performances and recordings of works by Dvořák, Janáček, Bruckner, and Mahler, and has also made a mark with his interpretations of contemporary composers and rarely heard gems.
