ScHoolboy Q

ScHoolboy Q, born Quincy Matthew Hanley on October 26, 1986, in Wiesbaden, Germany, is an American rapper and songwriter who has made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene since his debut. Raised in South Central Los Angeles, California, ScHoolboy Q's early life was steeped in the harsh realities of street life, experiences that would later inform much of his gritty, vivid storytelling in his music. Breaking onto the scene with his first mixtape, "ScHoolboy Turned Hustla" in 2008, he quickly caught the attention of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), a label that would become his musical home and the launching pad for his career. He is a member of the hip-hop supergroup Black Hippy, alongside label mates and fellow rap luminaries Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock.

ScHoolboy Q's discography boasts several critically acclaimed albums, including "Oxymoron" (2014) and "Blank Face LP" (2016), which showcase his unique blend of raw lyrical prowess and the ability to navigate complex beats with ease. His gritty narratives often touch on themes of street life, addiction, and survival, while also offering introspective takes on fatherhood and personal growth. Over the years, ScHoolboy Q has developed a reputation for his unapologetic, hard-hitting tracks, as well as his dynamic collaborations with artists across various genres. Tracks such as "Collard Greens," "Man of the Year," and "Studio" have cemented his status as a versatile and influential figure in contemporary hip-hop. With his fifth studio album, "CrasH Talk," released in 2019, and a series of singles and features following, ScHoolboy Q continues to expand his musical boundaries and affirm his position in the music world.
