Mariko Goto

Mariko Gotō is a Japanese singer, lyricist, and composer born on February 22, 1982, in Izumiōtsu, Osaka. She initially gained recognition as the singer and guitarist of the jazz fusion band **Midori**. After Midori disbanded in 2010, Gotō pursued a solo career, releasing albums like *299792458* (2012) and *m@u* (2013), as well as singles such as "Sound of Me" (2013). Her solo work often explores pop-rock elements with a vibrant, energetic sound. In 2016, she announced her retirement from music but later returned under the alias **DJ510Mariko**, releasing new material starting from 2018.

Gotō's career is marked by her versatility, moving from the jazz-fusion background of Midori to her solo pop-rock projects and even venturing into acting roles. Her music is notable for its catchy melodies and strong vocals, making her a standout figure in the Japanese music scene.
